FAQs:
Q: How do I pay?
A: Pre-payment with pre-registration is typically required within 2 days of registration. You can pay via pay pal or email money transfer through your personal internet / telephone / local branch banking account to SalsaForCharity@rogers.com. We suggest these methods as they are fast, safe, and easy to do. Or you can drop in to a class-in-progress and make your payment in cash face-to-face.
Q: Do I need a
partner?
A: No, we do our best to create
Salsa Dance classes / lessons that have a reasonable balance of
leads and follows. In fact, you may even be dancing with one of our
Assistant Instructors! We also rotate partners throughout the
class, allowing you the chance to meet and dance with all your
classmates.
Q: What should I
wear?
A: Wear comfortable dance
shoes/high heels/street shoes/runners and comfortable casual
clothing.
Q: If I miss the
classes, can I get a refund?
A: Unfortunately, no. But you may
be able to apply the credit to an upcoming session or go to the
same level of class on a different day of that week. Please email
us with at least 7 days notice.
Q: Can I try a
class before I sign up for the entire
session?
A: We strongly suggest that you
enroll in our full 9-week courses as the material taught in each
class builds on that taught in the prior class. In short, you need
to be a part of the program in order to get the most of your Salsa
dancing experience. The best thing to do would to be watch a class
already in session. However, we do allow drop-ins under special
circumstances. Please contact us for details.
Q: Can I get a
charitable tax receipt for taking lessons with Salsa For
Charity?
A: No, you do not get a tax receipt. Generally, you only get a tax
receipt after you donate money directly to a charity like the Red
Cross and receive no other goods or services in return. Salsa For
Charity does not issue tax receipts since it is a small business
similar to your neighbourhood grocery store, favourite restaurant,
or doctor's office. Just as you would go to a grocery store to buy
milk, a restaurant to have dinner, or a doctor's office for a
check-up, you would go to Salsa For Charity to enjoy professional,
fun, enriching, Salsa dance lessons.
What makes Salsa For Charity SPECIAL is that it is the FIRST dance
school to continually donate its services to support, build
awareness of, and provide funding for the Covenant House, World
Vision, and the Red Cross. In short, we believe in creating winning
situations for everyone involved, especially youth in need. So when
you take dance classes with us, you know you're joining a group of
extraordinary folks who are not only dedicated to Salsa dancing but
also dedicated to helping make the entire world a better
place.
Q: I've taken
Salsa lessons at another school before and I want to take Salsa
lessons with Salsa For Charity. Which course is for
me?
A: The best thing to do is to register online and to attend a
class-in-progress. Email SalsaForCharity@rogers.com for
details.
Q: My schedule
is hectic but I still want to drop-in whenever I can. Can I do
that?
A: We strongly suggest that you enroll in our full 9-week courses
as the material taught in each class builds on that taught in the
prior class. In short, you need to be a part of the program in
order to get the most of your Salsa dancing experience. However, we
do allow drop-ins under special circumstances. Please contact us
for details.
Q: I have
friends who want to join the class late. Can I still bring them to
class?
A: That depends on limited class space and the man:woman ratio.
Please contact us for availability. In the worst case scenario,
your friend can be placed on the waiting list for the next set of
classes / lessons.
Q: I've already
registered for the course and made the payment. What do I do
now?
A: You're set. Congratulations and welcome to wonderful world of
Salsa! Show up to class on time ready and willing.
Q: Can I come to
more than 1 class / week?
A: Yes, becoming a great dancer involves practice, repetition, and
FUN! If you come to more than one class a week, you will also
receive a discount off the total cost of your classes. Please
contact us for details.
Q: How are the
lessons running on different days different?
A: Each of the classes / courses of the same Level teach the same
material and meet once / week; but on different days.
